What's the matter with the high speed punch die wearing too fast?

2023-03-30

In the hardware processing industry, high speed punching is a forming processing method that applies external force to metal coils through punching machines and molds to cause plastic deformation or separation, thereby obtaining workpieces of required shape and size. In the process of high-speed punching, in order to avoid serious damage to the workpiece due to too fast wear, we should grasp the cause of too fast high-speed wear and check this aspect in advance. The reasons for the high-speed punch die wear too fast are:
(1) The die clearance of high-speed punching machine is small. It is generally recommended that the total die clearance is 20%~25% of the material thickness.
(2) The alignment of the convex and concave dies is not good, including components such as the mold base and mold positioning accuracy, and insufficient turrets. The mold alignment is not good.
(3) The temperature of the convex mold is too high, mainly due to the overheating of the high-speed punching machine caused by continuous punching of the same mold for a long time.
(4) Improper mold grinding method leads to mold annealing and wear.
(5) The installation accuracy of the mold of the high-speed punching machine is not high, which will lead to damage to a lower mold, punching hole and die if it is serious.

The above are some reasons why the die of the high-speed punching machine wears too fast. Here, the operator is reminded that in order to avoid the failure of the hydraulic punching machine due to too fast wear, it should be prevented in advance and check the above aspects regularly.
